This collection does not have any deviations yet!
Well, the Amazon Studios route led nowhere- it all turned out very frustrating in some ways. The project was very popular among the readers and reviewers (#2 in the Kids Show category for a while), but no nibbles from Amazon. Fair enough, it's not what they're looking for, I completely understand that.

So I took the project page down right around Thanksgiving so I'd be free to polish it some more and maybe start submitting it to other places. I've reworked the opening quite a bit, streamlined the story and took out some more of the exposition. I even added a not-so-subtle hint of a romance down the road for Tru.

Less than a week into the new year, Amazon started publishing lists of the most popular projects of 2012, by category. The unwritten small-print detail they omitted is that the list is of the most popular projects STILL ON Amazon's site. It's hard to know for sure, but I suspect if I'd left the project page up, Millennium Dawn might have made that list.

So bummer.

Anyway, I'll be diving back into this project int he coming months, and I'll be keeping an eye out for other contests I can submit it to, and maybe even figure out how to get it in from of someone who could actually do something with it.

Here's another artists vision of Tru, as a somewhat older teenager:

More than one person has suggested she should be closer to 14 or so than 11, which is the age I wrote her as- I'm on the fence, but slowly coming around
